Wholesale Market Project – In Collaboration with the Local Council of Marea

Marea, located in northern rural Aleppo, serves as a central hub for the surrounding areas. The city’s population has significantly increased to 54,500 residents, including 42,000 permanent residents and 12,500 displaced individuals from Aleppo, eastern rural Aleppo, Homs, and Eastern Ghouta in rural Damascus. This population growth has placed additional strain on public services such as water, electricity, sanitation, and markets.

To address these challenges, the project aims to establish a wholesale market on the eastern outskirts of Marea. This initiative will create job opportunities, reduce the prices of vegetables, fruits, and essential food items, and facilitate the export of agricultural products, contributing to the local economy and improving market efficiency.
